Authentic Kerala-Style Food - Kairali , Ruwi
In Muscat, there are lot of Kerala restaurants which provide good food no doubt, but one restaurant which stands out is this hotel located in Ruwi , High street. next to Khimjees. It is in very busy, narrow street and quite unassuming place. The parking is difficult, you might need to park on main high street and then walk inside the lane opposite to 1st Malabar gold showroom which you pass by.
Kairali restaurant provides very authentic Kerala food. Incase you happen to go the interiors of Kerala or visit rural village, you might get similar taste of that particular place in here.
In here, they serve Kerala meals in banana leaves. It is said, in olden days or village side, people used to pack their meals in similar fashion. It is called "Pothichuru". Each and every food items are very
pre-served in the banana leaves It consists of red-rice, two kinds of veggies ( poriyar or palya), veg curry, ratio, sweet.
There are other dishes which are cooked in banana leaves and is served very well.
